Penn State Public Broadcasting's popular weather program WEATHER WORLD commemorated its 20th anniversary year on September 1, 2003. Airing weekdays at 5:30 p.m. on WPSX-TV, WEATHER WORLD is a co-production of WPSX and the Weather Communications Group, and is also broadcast by public stations WVIA and WITF. Current meteorologists/hosts are Fred Gadomski and Paul Knight, who have been with the program since l980 and l976 respectively. Since the show’s premiere as a weather magazine show on Labor Day 1983, it has garnered several awards including the Pennsylvania Associate of Broadcasters 2003 Broadcasters of the Year Award and the American Meteorological Society award for Outstanding Service by A Broadcast Meteorologist for the work of hosts Knight and Gadomski.
